SCAGLIOLA GLASS srl: the Industry 4.0 revolution in a small business specializing in glass processing

THE CHALLENGE
SCAGLIOLA GLASS has been present in the market of Turin and province for more than 60 years and currently has decades of experience in the production and manufacture of designer shower enclosures, staircases and railings.
In the shed, it performs cutting, grinding, bevelling and drilling of glass and mirrors using state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, such as automatic and numerically controlled cutting benches.
The different types of glass and mirrors available in stock are categorized into classifiers and maneuvered using overhead cranes. It has 3 trucks for the transport and installation of its products, 2 of which are equipped with cranes and pneumatic suction cups for large sheets.

In order to optimize its production processes, in 2022 the company chooses to upgrade its fleet of machines, integrating the new MASTER BIESSE and digitizing it. To automate the management and monitoring of production orders, it takes advantage of the tax benefits provided by the Italian Transition Plan 4.0.

THE SOLUTION
At SCAGLIOLA GLASS Orchestra installs BIESSE’s new SMARTCONNECTION digital business order management solution “powered by RETUNER®”: MES software developed by BIESSE in collaboration with Orchestra’s RETUNER® suite of products for planning, advancing, controlling and summarizing the processing of machines in production. It is a technology designed specifically for small and medium-sized companies operating in the glass industry, which do not yet have a digital production management system.
